Privacy Policy – The Cage

This Privacy Policy explains how The Cage ("we", "our", or "us") handles information when you use our mobile application.

Information We Collect

We collect only the data necessary to provide the app's core functionality:

  • Name / Nickname: When joining the app using an invite code, you provide a name or nickname. This is stored on our servers and is visible to other members within the app. You join with an invite code, so we do not ask for your email, phone number, or real name.
  • Photos & Camera: The app can access your device camera and photo library so you can add images — for example a profile photo, or a victory photo for the in-app "Hall of Cage" (which is shown to other members on a public leaderboard). Authorized users (admins) may also upload gallery and artist photos. Images you upload are stored on our servers; photos you do not upload stay on your device.
  • Content You Submit: Anything you actively submit in the app — such as a "Who's Here" check-in, an event RSVP, or a board or group post — is stored on our servers so other members can see it. This is always something you choose to do.
  • Push Notifications: With your permission, your device is issued a notification token (through a push-notification service) so we can send camp announcements and reminders. The token is used only to deliver notifications — never for tracking or advertising — and you can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.

Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect:

  • Email addresses or phone numbers
  • Location data
  • Usage analytics or crash reports sent to third parties

Third-Party Services

The Cage relies on two third-party service providers:

  • A cloud hosting provider — stores the data described above (names, uploaded images, and content you submit).
  • A push-notification service — delivers push notifications to your device.

We do not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking services, and never sell or share your data for advertising.

Data Storage

The names, images, and content described above are stored on our backend and transmitted over an encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connection. Data is retained as long as your account is active. To request deletion of your data, contact us at the address below.

Children's Privacy

Our app is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
